Response #2:The Contractor may need to take out an encroachment permit from the local jurisdiction defining what is being done on the local street and the time frame. Contractor need to adhere to local roadway/street closure requirement from local jurisdiction. Department have PTEC ( permit to enter and construct ) with the local City.

Inquiry #3: Typical cross sections on sheet X-5 show paving sections 3 and 4 for the new construction. These sections do not include ATPB, and they do not detail an Edge Drain at these locations. The Drainage Plans on sheets D-6 and D-7, and DQ-2 call for an Edge Drain at the Pleasant Hill location. Installing an Edge Drain within a section of deep lift asphalt is not typically done. Please confirm that an edge drain is required at the Highway 680 locations.

Inquiry #4: We are have a hard time sourcing the rails for the wrought iron fence. We can find
1.5" x 1.5" square having a 1/4" wall or a channeled 1.5" x 1.5" with a 1/4" wall. Would this be acceptable to use the rails listed above on the wrought fence

Inquiry #5: 1. Materials on the Plan and Specials are different, and the plans have 2 different wall thickness , What are the correct sizes and wall thicknesses for the fence?
In the plans the posts and rails show as 3/8" wrought iron. The spec calls for 14 gauge rails. 14 gauge is 5/64, and is much thinner than 3/8".
Please accurately specify the thickness of the posts, rails and pickets.

Inquiry #6: The quantities for items 53 and 54 cannot possibly be correct.
Item 53 -- there is literally 1 rock of 1T on the plans. This quantity should not be more that 1 CY.
Item 54 - There are 33 ea 1/2 ton rocks on the plans. This quantity should be closer to 14 cy, not 140 cy.

Inquiry #10: Do you plan to revise Lane Requirement Chart G2 from just shoulder closures to shoulder closures and a lane closure for purposes of setting and removing K rail, paving, earth work, barrier placement, removals and other items necessary to complete CT contemplated work within CT Right of Way?
Traffic between 11 PM and 4 AM is light enough to take one lane out of the motoring publics' convenience for construction of public safety devices.
