Inquiry #4: See Sheet E-5 where the loops are shown at the intersection of Hwy 46 and Golden Hill Road.

The existing loops will be destroyed during the precast panel work, the digout work, and the grind and overlay work. Will the State consider allowing traffic cameras to temporarily operate the lights at this intersection until the final loops can be installed? If not, the contractor will have to include costs to re-install inductive loops at least 3 times during the course of the project to keep lights functioning properly.

Inquiry submitted 06/08/2023

Response #1:Standard specifications 87-1.03A directs the contractor to Replace detectors you damage within 72 hours, or the Department replaces them and deducts the cost.
The Department will allow traffic cameras to temporarily operate the lights at Golden Hill Road in lieu of installing temporary TMS elements.
