Inquiry #2: The turn-around JPCP section shown on C-1 will require a long term closure in lane 1, in both directions, as there will be a 1.50' vertical. Long term closures are not authorized as per the provided lane closure charts. Please advise if this is intentional.

Inquiry #3: Regarding the Turn-Around Area to be constructed at PM 10.32-10.35: please change the material type to rapid strength concrete so that the shoulder can be safely reopened to traffic as required by the freeway lane requirement charts. Alternatively, please provide traffic handling plans to include placement of K-Rail to protect this area while the conventional concrete comes up to strength.

Inquiry #4: In regards to the Individual Slab Replacement chart shown on Summary of Quantities Sheet Q-1: There is a row for SB Connector PM 14.95/15.10 and another row for SB Connector PM 15.00/R15.83. Is this correct? Should one of these rows read NB Connector? Please confirm that the directions and PM limits are correct.

Inquiry #5: Full closures will be needed in order to perform the ISR on the connectors, as the traveled way is only two lanes wide. Connector Lane Closure chart I1 requires that at least one lane of traffic be open at all times. Please provide full closures, or describe how the contractor is to safely remove and replace the concrete panels while maintaining a safety buffer between its operations and the motoring public.

Inquiry #6: Please provide a detail drawing for the JPCP joint spacing at the Turn-Around Area to be constructed at PM 10.32-10.35. There is no standard detail for Turn-Around Areas, and standard plans P1 and P3 indicate that joint layouts at intersections will be show in the project plans.

Inquiry #7: Summary of Quantities Q-3 lists Overside Drains at .074 SF per drain and a total of 3.63 SY for 48 drains that are 10' in length. My calculations estimated to be between 145-200 SY for all the drains.
