Response #2:The plans do not show temporary lighting. However, the 135 W is the wattage of the existing lights on Pole standard A and J per the Standard and Equipment Schedule on E-22.

Response #2:The lighting wattage is not fixed. The contractor should be referencing the AML list for Large Intersection Level C for all proposed LEDs for this intersection. The wattage may vary depending on the luminaire choice.

Response #2:The guidance provided in the Highway Design Manual, Topics 852.6 and 855.5 is to consider the culvert material’s susceptibility to fire and whether the area is prone to fire, or has a history of wildfire events. None of that is the case for the culverts proposed for this project.

Inquiry #9: Please reference sheets C35-C40. At "A" Line Station 121+78.09 there is a callout to end curb (type a2-8) transition without a callout to begin new curb and gutter. However, there are design lines depicting new curb and gutter from station 121+78.09 to 128+41.34 at which an end curb callout is depicted.

Please confirm whether Caltrans requires new curb and gutter to be constructed or for the contractor to join existing curb and gutter.
