Inquiry #3: On page 128 of the Special Provisions, section 86-1.02C(2)(e)(i), it states that the communication pull box must comply with section 86-1.02C(2)(d)(iii), which is for tamper-resistant traffic pull boxes. However, in the project plans, the communication pull boxes are not shown to be tamper-resistant traffic pull boxes. Do the communication pull boxes on this contract need to be tamper-resistant traffic pull boxes?

Inquiry #4: The communication pull boxes called out on for Bid Item #62 Modifying Fiber Optic Cable Systems are only labeled with (C) E-2 to E-16, the applicable detail is ED-3 (sheet 111). On ED-3, Note #3 tells the contractor to refer to the special provisions for details regarding the hold down bolts (Special Provision Sheet 128), ultimately stating that the communication pull boxes are to be Tamper Resistant Traffic Pull Boxes with anchored cover. Can Caltrans clearly specify if these communication boxes are to be with Tamper Resistant Anchored covers as well as the details & labeling are conflicting.
