Inquiry #1: Special Provision 78-4.03B states to use a product from MPI List no.11 which is an exterior semi-gloss paint. This project also requires the application of an anti-graffiti coating, which corresponds to standard spec 78-4.06B; requirement 3 states that the coating must have a matte finish.

The matte finish of the ag coat will dull out the semi-gloss finish of the paint.

Can Cal Trans confirm that matte finish, over semi-gloss paint is acceptable, or clarify which final sheen finish Cal Trans wants for the walls?

Inquiry #2: Per special provision 78-4.03C(1) General states to provide a ventilation system under section 59-2.01C(2)(b)(ii).

However, 59-2.01C(2)(a) General states:
The containment system must contain all water, resulting debris, and visible dust produced when the existing paint system is disturbed.

Per our review on Google Street View of the tunnels to be painted and graffiti-coated, there is no existing paint system. Would containment still be required for operations?

If there is a paint system can information be provided on what kind of paint is present?

Inquiry #3: Per Layout Sheet L-2, shows Alt In-Line Terminal System TL-3 to be Max-Tension In-Line Guardrail Terminal TL-3 however spec Section 83-2.04B calls for all types of In-Line Terminal System. Please clarify if we can you use any of the four mentioned on the specs. Thanks
