Inquiry submitted 02/06/2024

Inquiry #2: Please provide the Latitude and Longitude of the 36" & 60" Sign CIDH Foundation to allow locating the CIDH during a job walk. Specification 2-1.07 allows jobsite examination. Without the Latitude and Longitude information we are not able to locate the scope of interest.

If Caltrans does not provide this information it is preventing bidders from having a chance to determine general and local conditions to be encountered + the characterization of observable surface Geologic Conditions to supplement the LOTBs and is a bidders right to walk the jobsite per specification 2-1.07.

Inquiry #4: Sign Structure sheet SD-2 (Sheet 89) - Sign OS3-1 has a 'H' height problem - the dimension is going from below the bottom of base plate (in the concrete somewhere) to the very top of the post - this is not typically how the 'H' dimension is shown. Please clarify or fix so we understand what the H=23'-6" is showing.

Inquiry #5: Pay weight for sign OS5-1 is extremely low (like 1/4 of what it should be) - shown on sheet SQ-2 (Sheet 91). For example Sign OS1-1 only has a span of 45' with a pay weight of 26,939 LBS but OS5-1 has a larger span at 50'-0" and taller post height (post type is unknown - please provide) but is only paying 8,871 LBS which is significantly low. This will affect both the Summary pay weight and the bid item 75 - 560226.

Inquiry #17: Notes shown in the Stage 4 plan sheets (SC-15 through SC-17) are a little confusing. Is the intent to PPC pave both 12' lanes each shift so there is no transverse drop-off between lanes when opening to traffic after each night? Full width PPC paving with cure time isn't possible in a single night with the traffic charts as-is. Are transverse dropoffs at the shoulders acceptable when opening to traffic? Only 2 segments are shown, but it is broken down into 6 sections [boxed numbers]. Is each of the 6 sections required to be PPC paved completely prior to moving on to the next section?
