Inquiry #1: The standard specifications for the polyester concrete overlay cure is 4 hours. Many times this is modified in the special provisions to allow for a 2 hour cure, as the material can cure out that fast, and is allowed by the manufacture. This project doesn't have the modified 2 hour cure for the polyester concrete overlay. Given the allowable lane closures are only 8 hours on this project, if a 2 hour cure was allowed it would allow for the project to be expedited lessening the impact to the traveling public. Will the department allow for a 2 hour cure for the polyester overlay?

Inquiry #2: Given the closure charts in the Special Provisions for the mainline locations (Charts G1 & G2) there is no way to pave the middle lanes, as there is 4 lanes on the roadway, and 2 must be kept open during the 8 hour closure. To pave the middle lanes, 3 lanes will need to be taken during a closure, given the current closure charts this is not constructible. Will the state update the charts to allow for a 3rd lane to be taken to allow for the overlays to be constructible?
