Inquiry #2: Section 7-1.02M(2) of the Special Provisions talks about an operated fire control pickup truck. Is this to be full time (the employee has no other duties) as indicated by this sentence "Furnish a pickup truck and operator for the sole purpose of fire control during working hours." or part time as indicated by this sentence "In addition to being available at the site of the work, the truck and operator must patrol the area of construction from noon until at least 1/2 hour after job site activities have ended."?
Which bid item does the fire truck get paid under?

Inquiry #3: Section 12-4.02C(9)(c)(i) directs the contractor to provide 1 flagger at the Schober Ln intersection. Is the flagger required only when the cold planing and paving take place at that location? 24/7? During working hours? (Note, the widening begins up station of Schober Ln, but the channelizers begin down station.)

Inquiry #4: Section 14-2.03B of the Special Provisions states "All construction staff will attend cultural awareness training prior to construction start". What is the duration of this training? Will it be provided on an as needed basis as additional employees are added to the project? (i.e. the paving crew or striping subcontractor won't be present on Day 1 when the CAS are being installed)

Response #1:The training is approximately 30 minutes long. The training will be provided by a Department representative on an as needed basis. The contractor shall provide advance notice to the Department requesting the training.

Inquiry #5: Will Caltrans provide their Embankment quantity and/or calculation including USABLE Roadway Excavation and Imported Borrow? Section 19-6.02A of the special provisions states "Material for embankments must not include RAP or broken asphalt concrete from excavation." How many of the 1,600 CY of Road Ex are unable to be re-used because they contain existing AC?

Inquiry #6: Chart No. K1 in Section 12-4.02C(3)(k) shows a lane closure is allowed between 6am-8pm M-Th and 6am-3pm F. The traffic handling plans and bid item 9 Channelizer (Surface Mounted) would indicate the #2 lane closure is 24 hours. Which is correct?
