Inquiry #1: Please verify the quantity for Bid Item 24, " Structural Concrete, Drainage Inlet" is correct. The drainage quantity sheets show each inlet with heights of 5' while the drainage profiles show the inlets with different heights. Please confirm the CY is based on the correct height inlet.

Inquiry #2: Based on the existing elevations shown on the profiles on the layout sheets there seems to be a significant amount of roadway excavation required for the construction of the new minor concrete improvements. The quantity of roadway excavation does not seem to be included in the roadway excavation item. Please increase the roadway excavation quantity to include the excavation needed for the minor concrete improvements.

Response #2:Compensation for existing earth, vegetation, concrete and asphalt materials removed are included per Bid Item Numbers 17, 18, 23, and 38; other items include any excavation or fill in the Bid Item. Please bid according to the advertised documents.

Inquiry #3: Note 6 on sheet C-1 specifies for all pull boxes, water valves/meters, and manholes to be adjusted to grade. Does Caltrans have a count for these items? If not, it is not reasonable to expect the contractor to identify and quantify these items prior to the bid. Will Caltrans please add a bid item to adjust existing facilities to grade?

Response #2:Bid item list per Addendum 2, dated November 1, 2023, indicates a total of 58 item numbers, but only 56 total items are to be bid on as item number 55 is replaced by item number 58 for MOBILIZATION bid item. Addendum 2 added two new items per bid item numbers 56 and 57.
