Inquiry #2: The quantity for Pay Item 51 is listed as a Final Quantity and is itemized on Plan Sheets 202 thru 205 (of 376). The Layout Plans indicate the beginning and ending point of each concrete anchor block. 4 EA of these blocks are shown on the Layout Plans, but not quantified for Final Payment. 1 EA on Plan Sheet 9, where the proposed 60MS will tie onto the northwest corner of the Southbound Route 241 Overpass. 2 EA on Plan Sheet 29, indicated as points "G", "H, "J" and "K". 1 EA on Plan Sheet 33, along Southbound Route 241 over Bake Parkway. Please review these locations and correct this Final Quantity accordingly.

Inquiry #3: Please confirm how the bid item for pre/post construction surveys (Bid Item 68) will be compensated. Plan Sheet 199 (of 376) lists 1 EA pre/post construction surveys for each of the proposed handicap ramps. Plan Sheets 208, 209 and 210 (of 376) indicate that a quantity of 2 EA pre/post construction surveys will occur at each proposed handicap ramp.

Inquiry #4: No saw cutting along the existing edge of pavement is depicted on Plan Sheets 121 or 123 (of 376) for the temporary pavement, nor is saw cutting the existing edge of pavement shown along the proposed maintenance vehicle pullouts on Plan Sheets 212, 213, 216 or 232 (of 376). Please confirm that saw cutting these edges of pavement will not be required.

Inquiry #6: The grading plans do not include adequate information to determine that the roadway excavation quantities indicated on Plan Sheet 206 (of 376) are accurate. Additionally, the 2.7 CY of Roadway Excavation indicated on Sheet Numbers G-7 to G-8 is not found on those plan sheets at the Stations and offsets listed. Are CADD drawings available to confirm the Roadway Excavation Quantities?

Inquiry #7: Special Provision Page 30 indicates that the unregulated earth material containing lead should be reused on the right of way. Special Provision Page 84 indicates that surplus material must be disposed of after the Contractor ensures adequate material remains to construct embankments. This provision also deleted Standard Specification language permitting the Contractor to obtain approval to use the excess material to widen embankments uniformly, flatten slopes or placing the material along the roadway or at other locations. Disposal of any surplus material containing minimal amounts of lead will be very expensive, please reconsider this requirement to reduce the project cost.

Inquiry #28: This project includes 3 Additive Items for Bid List 2, Bid List 3 and Bid List 4. As outlined in the project specifications, page 11, section 2-1.10, the contractor is directed to submit a Subcontractor List for the total base bid plus each of the 3 Additive Items (Bid List 2, 3 & 4). On Caltrans electronic submittal site there is no way to identify the 4 bid lists individually and separately when completing the Subcontractor List. We interpret this specification to simply require the contractor to make sure they have included any subcontractors for the Additive Items corresponding line items as required by Caltrans Standard Specifications, section 2-1.10 and not submit 4 separate subcontractor lists. Please confirm.
